Tinnitus Treatment

Tinnitus is a health disorder in which a patient hears noise in one or both the ears even in the absence of an external sound or noise. There are many other problems which may be caused due to this disorder, thus for anyone suffering from tinnitus it is advised to see a doctor and get a tinnitus treatment as early as possible.

Now, there are many treatments for this problem and I will be sharing a few of them with you:

Amplification Aids

People who lose their hearing power totally or partially are often its sufferers. Amplification aids for tinnitus treatment are helpful for such people in the sense that they help a deaf person recover the hearing power which covers up the frequency of these sounds in the head or ear. Thus, helps them naturally covering up the tinnitus.

Electrical Stimulation or Cochlear Implants

This tinnitus treatment is an electrical means to overcome the tinnitus problem. The cochlear implant is done through the use of two components that are an electrode array and a receiver. As the name implies, an electrode array is implanted in the cochlea which helps to send electrical impulses from the ear to the brain. The receiver is kept behind the ear beneath the skin.

Both of these tinnitus treatment (amplification aids and the cochlear implants) are generally referred to people who have reached the deaf state or are more or less at that stage or close to it because these electrical array implants destroys all the healthy hair cells in the cochlea.

Most of the people opting for this treatment have got positive results and thus can be prescribed as a safe treatment. They aid in bringing back the hearing to people who have reached the deaf state. The electrical signals suppress the annoying tinnitus sounds thus enabling the person to feel normal.

Cognitive Therapy

Many people start taking antibiotics or other drugs for tinnitus treatment but they can be of no use and they might even exaggerate the problem. However, there are some drugs which will help in reducing anxiety, stress and tensions thus dropping the chances for tinnitus. Anti-anxiety drugs like Xanax, antidepressants like antihistamines, nortriptyline, anesthetics like lidocaines and anticonvulsants like gabapentin add to some helpful and effective tinnitus treatment.

Biofeedback

This is one of the relaxation techniques that also acts as a control factor for many people. This tinnitus treatment teaches people how to have control on their autonomic body functions like muscle tension, skin temperature, and pulse control. The Biofeedback tinnitus treatment generally aids in controlling stress and tension in a person’s life.

This therapy helps to change the reaction of body towards such mental conditions. This has been adapted my most of the patients and also been beneficial to most of them.

Intake of zinc, magnesium or any herbal preparations, homeopathic medicines and even increasing the intake of vitamin B has been fruitful tinnitus treatment for many patients. Therapies and treatments like craniosacral therapy, magnet therapy, hypnosis and acupuncture can also be looked for. This tinnitus treatment can be helpful if adopted positively and dedicatedly.

Holistically

One of the facts about Tinnitus is that curing it can never be achieved by tackling only one of the many causes which might be responsible for tinnitus. It is known that most patients that tired curing their tinnitus using a one-dimensional treatment like drugs, herbal supplements or even special detox diets failed.

The reason for failure is probably due to only focusing on one possible cause of the disease. The solution is to cure tinnitus holistically which is known for helping fix the problem for good and with high success percentage.
